Guest Feelings

Dear Maria,

When we arrived in Sintra we didn't have a clue where we were going to stay, the tourist officer at the station showed us some photos of different residences, and from these we were very lucky to have picked yours. The photo didn't show the true beauty which became evident when Dinora showed us around your property. The view from our balcony was that of a fairytale. A fairytale that can be remembered and told to others. Thank you for your hospitality, you made us feel at home away from home and it would be lovely to return some other time.

For future reference, if anyone wants to stay here, they absolutely should. We had an apartment that has a private terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains. We didn't meet Maria (the owner) but her assistant was there and she was so nice, helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean, with a kitchenette. It was not luxury, but perfectly nice and comfortable. The terrace was a definite plus. Sintra is such an amazing place. Highly reccommended.

During a break in February 2001, I went down to Sintra, Portugal's most extraordinary, beautiful and wonderful town. Sintra had been a study subject in the University, so I decided to visit there. Being in Oporto, I had only once been to Lisbon, Portugal's capital some 20 km away from Sintra. I browsed the internet and found Quinta da Paderna, a guesthouse in Sintra, and booked it for 3 nights. It was one of the most interesting and wonderful experiences of my entire life. Besides having a very special atmosphere, the house sits on a mountainside and has absolutely lovely views. Maria, the owner, is truly a special and warm person, and she led me to her New Age temple in the gardens. Absolutely extraordinary! (...)And Sintra is a GORGEOUS town, romantic, filled with castles and palaces, a MUST TO GO. I recommend Quinta da Paderna to all!

To Dear Maria -

Otto was told we that I was right when I told him "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be." We both agree that your beautiful "farm", wonderful hospitality, and the sweet and attentive care given by you, Maria, and by your sweet helper. Maria, will be forever among the best of our memories. Sintra and the special experience with you proves that the "best is yet to be !" (The fireplace is wonderful !) (The conversation is great !) (The flowers. on so great !) With Love and sweet memories.

Chalereusement,
Maud

Celebrating our 25th Anniversary in Portugal. The last part of our trip brings us to Sintra, the most romantic place we have ever visited. Maria's home is a delightful ending to our wonderful travels. Enjoyed meeting Maria and her other American guests who are honeymooning. We are "oldtimers", they are new!
